Two-way Track Module 2021, DC, analogue

Two-way Track Module 2021, DC, analogue

Two-way Track Module 2021, DC, analogue

Anyone who has built electronic modules for controlling starting and braking into their system before is familiar with a particular problem – while one train reaches its precise stopping point, a second stops hugely short of it and a third even continues at such a speed that it overshoots the mark entirely or halts abruptly! Regardless of what control attempts are made, nothing is 100% suitable for all vehicles! This is the result of the varying driving characteristics of each of the individual traction units. Therefore, we have developed a track module with speed-regulated delay. By measuring the approaching train, the slow speed during deceleration is set. In this way, faster trains are decelerated more, whereas slower trains are decelerated to a lesser extent, thus allowing each train to arrive at its intended target.

This microprocessor-controlled module functions using pulse width control. 64 speeds are available. The module can be used in both directions and is controlled by the polarity of the traction voltage and an individual control input for each direction dependent on the three integrated track occupancy indicators.

For use with station tracks that are used in both directions, block sections, single- and double-track in both directions. Aside from the occupancy indicator outlets for all three individual sections, there is also an overall occupancy indicator outlet for switching multiple track component 2021s in a row in automatic block section operation or for feedback via feedback modules 1051 and 1151.

Requires a traction current source (max. 12V=) and an adjunct current supply (16V~ or =) to operate.

Also available without casing at a lower price as 2121.

Track Module 2022, AC, analogue

Anyone who has built electronic modules for controlling starting and braking into their system before is familiar with a particular problem – while one train reaches its precise stopping point, a second stops hugely short of it and a third even continues at such a speed that it overshoots the mark entirely or halts abruptly! Regardless of what control attempts are made, nothing is 100% suitable for all vehicles! This is the result of the varying driving characteristics of each of the individual traction units. In this way, faster trains are decelerated more, whereas slower trains are decelerated to a lesser extent, thus allowing each train to arrive at its intended target.

This microprocessor-controlled module functions using pulse width control. 64 speeds are available. It is controlled by the input/ BlFr for occupied signals for the following track segment in connection with the three built-in track occupied indicators. Alternatively, the module is operated on this input by ground potential (=free). It functions in the preferred direction. In the opposite direction, passage without interference or stopping is possible.

For use as a station track control, for block sections, single- and double-track. Aside from the occupancy indicator outlets for all three individual sections, there is also an overall occupancy indicator outlet for switching multiple track component 2022s in a row in automatic block section operation or for feedback via feedback modules 1051 and 1151. For block section operation, a two-aspect light signal can be directly connected and controlled without any additional modules.

Requires a traction current source (max. 12V=) and an adjunct current supply (16V~ or =) to operate.

Also available without casing at a lower price as 2122.

Track Module 2024 for two-wire DC, analogue, specifically for block operation

It is specifically for use in block sections and is controlled by the input for occupancy indication for the next track section or ground potential (=free) in connection with the three built-in track occupied indicators.

For use in block sections, single- and double-track, without influence in opposite direction. Aside from the occupancy indicator outlets for all three individual sections, there is also an overall occupancy indicator outlet for switching multiple track component 2024s in a row in automatic block section operation or for feedback via feedback modules 1051 and 1151. In addition to this, a light block signal can also be attached. As such, this compact device enables complete and independent block control. One 2024 module is required per block section.

Transit in the opposite direction at a red signal is possible and occurs without influencing the train.

Requires a traction current source (max. 12V=) and an adjunct current supply (16V~ or =) to operate.

Also available without casing at a lower price as 2124.

Digital Start-brake-go slow Module 2025

Digital Start-brake-go slow Module 2025

Digital Start-brake-go slow Module 2025

This new development from 2015 is the ‘digital brother’ of its analogue counterparts. The module was designed for the DCC digital system. With this module, independent block section controls, as well as set-ups as go slow tracks, steep descents, in connection with 3-aspect signals as speed-dependent entries to/ exits out of train stations or other operationally necessary go slow areas are also possible. The integrated speed recognition controls the variable go slow passage, thus enabling pinpoint stopping. With a setting controller, calibration of the working sections of varying length is possible to a large extent. The respective start/ brake acceleration is individually set in the decoder CVs for each vehicle. With this module, digitally operated systems become hugely more convenient, avoiding the need to fall back on a computer and the necessary software.

Due to its easy controllability from the outside, this module is ideally suited to integration into systems which use the Trackswitch control system, and multiple 2025 modules can be combined in a cascade to create an independent block system without the need for additional electronic wiring or equipment. Even the block signals (light signals) can be directly connected. Thanks to built-in delays, operation with the 2025 module is particularly realistic. The train only sets off once the signal has been green for 3 seconds. The segment being left is only declared as free 5 seconds after being vacated by the last vehicle.

Transit in the opposite direction at a red signal is possible both at normal and go slow speed.

And the best bit – for all of these features and functions, you do not need a specialised decoder! Any DCC decoder can be used, as the previously required braking systems for DCC digital (ABC, brakes with direct current, etc.) are not needed here.

Module 2026 for two-wire DC tracks, analogue, high PWM, section control with signal control

Module 2026 for two-wire DC tracks, analogue, high PWM, section control with signal control

Module 2026 for two-wire DC tracks, analogue, high PWM, section control with signal control

Thanks to the newest processor technology, this module functions with a very high pulse width frequency of 23.45KHz. At the same time, the experience and knowledge of the previous types have been incorporated into this new module. As such, the module is no longer restricted to just one power system. Aside from normal two-wire DC tracks, AC systems can also be controlled using this module. A further advantage is its uncritical use with so-called bell-type armature motors (such as Faulhabers). The features previously enjoyed in its predecessors are, of course, integrated here as well – speed recognition, speed-dependent braking to a variable minimum speed and pinpoint stopping. A simple light block signal is also controlled. This module can also be implemented as a ‘go slow only’ module for station entries and exits, for example. Due to its simple wiring, this component can also be combined with other track modules to create completely independently operating block systems. This module is completely compatible with the modules 2022 and 2024. Transit in the opposite direction does not influence the train (transit in the opposite direction on the block signal showing stop).

Drive Controller 2032 DC, analogue

Drive Controller 2032 DC, analogue

Drive Controller 2032 DC, analogue

This novel drive controller differs from its predecessor 2030 primarily due to its switchable pulse width frequency and its increased efficiency, which both makes the use of bell-type armature motors uncritical and also enables use in small outdoor model railways.

It is operated by an incremental encoder, which also has a key function. Up to 63 speeds can be set, shown on the two-digit display. All functions are intuitive and incredibly easy to operate. The direction of travel can only be changed when the vehicle is stationary, as is the case with frequency shifts. The direction of travel is also shown by additional LEDs to the left and right of the display. Furthermore, this controller has an additional immediate and emergency stop function. The default electronic fuse setting is 2,5A.

The drive controller consists of two modules – the electronic module, which can be assembled at any chosen position, and the operating module, which is intended for assembly with a signal box, manual operation box or similar. The size of the controls is matched to the modular dimensions of the Digimoba signal box (2x3 fields), so that assembly can be carried out without issue. The components are connected by a cable, which is delivered with the module.

For larger outdoor model railways, the module is also available as 2033 with up to 8A (!!)

Drive Controller for outdoor model railways 2033

Drive Controller for outdoor model railways 2033

Drive Controller for outdoor model railways 2033

This new development derives from the established drive controller 2032 and was created for use in outdoor model railways with their increased power requirements, currents and voltages. It can be used with up to 22V traction voltage and 8A traction current. The prerequisite here is, of course, an appropriately powerful power supply. The Display is equipped for the use outside with brighter, blue luminous announcements.

This drive controller is also equipped with a special manual operating device, which allows you to get that bit closer. It is connected to the electronics via a 1.5m long cable. If desired, a cable of up to 5m can also be delivered. The drive controller creates a pulse width signal to control the vehicles. The pulse width frequency can be switched to three levels – 190Hz, 3200Hz and 25000Hz. The latter frequency is especially suitable for brushless motors, so-called bell-type armature motors (Faulhabers, Maxons, some Bühlers) in particular. A built-in electronic fuse ensures the necessary safety and is immediately triggered by currents of more than 8A. It is operated using a rotary encoder with key function. The speed (1-63) is shown on the display, together with other operating states. There are two LEDs to show the direction of travel.

Signal Module 2041 for main and approach light signal

Signal Module 2041 for main and approach light signal

Signal Module 2041 for main and approach light signal

This signal module is a further development of 2040. The decisive difference is its capacity to be used for light signals for differently polarised terminals. While only signals with a mutual positive connection could be used as return conductors in 2041’s precursor 2040, this no longer plays a role, thanks to the alternating current technology in 2041. Both positive and negative poles of the power supply can be used as mutual return conductors. Another advantage can be found in the wiring for the approach signal due to the elimination of additional diodes for decoupling. The respective approach signal (with up to three signal aspects) is directly connected to the signal module 2041! The polarity of the mutual return conductor also plays no part here!
The purpose of the signal module is to control a light signal with up to 4 aspects, by which an approach signal attached to the same tower as the main signal is prototypically dimmed when a main signal of ‘stop’ is shown. Electronics controlled by a microprocessor ensure realistic panning of the signal aspects. Via an in-built relay contact, the traction current or other form of control current can be controlled potential-free. And for travel in the opposite direction at a red signal, an individual gate is available. Activation occurs via a short ground impulse at the desired input. Built-in LEDs are for supervision purposes and always show the current signal aspect.
